happy birthday to me

About a week or two ago I saw the BMWCCA was doing a HPDE (High Performance Driving Event - AKA track weekend with instructors) in early November. So since my birthday was coming up, I started to drop hints (every 15 or 20 minutes) that it would be an ideal birthday present. My wife just made faces at me, which usually means she doesn't approve.

Yesterday was my birthday. The truth is she was making faces because I was ruining the surprize. She had already researched things and was planning on giving me the track day for a month or two. Awesome. Infineon here I come.

I've got a big checklist of stuff to do to the car before then:

• replace the worn suspension - TC Kline SA Coilovers (may as well upgrade "while I'm in there")
  
• flush brake fluid - ATE baby
  
• fix up worn bushings (tranny mounts, motor mounts?)
• replace tires - I'm thinking Falken RT-615's
  

That's about it. I'm psyched to hit the track :)
